NATIVE PLANTS
Many
mountain gardeners find that "going native" can solve a lot
of problems. Native plants are already adapted to clay soil, heavy shade
(or full sun), late cold snaps in the spring, and indigenous diseases
and insects. Native plants also offer excellent habitat for birds, butterflies
and wildlife.
